On Wednesday, 28 September 2022, in the evening at around 20:00, in Šiauliai, on Lieporių street near No. 1, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra-G-CC and a Ford Galaxy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.78‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
