On Sunday, 2 October 2022, in the morning at 10:57, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Pakriauniai–Samaniai–Suviekas regional road (kilometre 23), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and an Opel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
