On Friday, 11 November 2022, in the evening at around 17:00, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Kuršėnai–Mažeikiai national road (kilometre 50), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
