On Thursday, 24 November 2022, in the morning at 6:53, in Vilnius, on Salomėjos Nėries street, a Skoda Octavia hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 5-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 32-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Skoda (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
