On Wednesday, 21 December 2022, in the morning at around 5:00, in Utenos district municipality, on the Utena–Tauragnai–Kirdeikiai regional road (kilometre 7.72), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
