On Thursday, 22 December 2022, in the evening at 18:10, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Anulynai–Tirkšliai regional road (kilometre 28.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Skoda Superb. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
