On Sunday, 18 December 2022, in the afternoon at 14:50, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Molėtai–Anykščiai national road (kilometre 3), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 6 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to keep a safe distance. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
