On Saturday, 28 January 2023, at night at 1:10, in Panevėžys, on Dariaus ir Girėno street near No. 13, a Saab 9-3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Saab (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.59‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
