On Monday, 20 February 2023, in the afternoon at 11:38, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Kretinga–Rūdaičiai–Žibininkai regional road (kilometre 3.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 and a BMW 520D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW 530 (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
