On Monday, 6 March 2023, in the afternoon at 12:09, in Marijampolės municipality, on Gedimino street near No. 89, at the junction with Vasaros street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH, a Kroeger, a MAN TGX, a Mitsubishi and a Schmitz Cargobull. Two people were injured — the 52-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient) and a 61-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Volvo (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober.
