On Friday, 10 March 2023, in the afternoon at 14:39, in Vilniaus city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 14), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. Three people were injured — a 76-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (severely injured, hospitalized), a 13-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 85-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
