On Saturday, 11 March 2023, in the afternoon at 14:14, in Šiaulių district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with Plento street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Insignia, a Krone - and a DAF FT XF105. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered.
