On Friday, 17 March 2023, in the evening at 17:59, in Plungės district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 81.50), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Insignia Sports Tourer SW, a Volkswagen and a Volvo V70. Two people were injured — a 44-year-old passenger of the Volvo (severely injured, hospitalized) and a 29-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized).
