On Thursday, 23 March 2023, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Utenos district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Lauko street, a Skoda Octavia hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 59-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Skoda (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
