On Saturday, 22 April 2023, in the morning at 9:30, in Pakruojo district municipality, on Statybininkų street near No. 4, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 70-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 87-year-old driver of the Opel (55 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
