On Wednesday, 17 May 2023, in the afternoon at 16:45, in Šilutės district municipality, on V. Kudirkos street near No. 22, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel and a Toyota RAV4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.68‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
