On Sunday, 30 July 2023, in the afternoon at 16:40, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 99.70), a BMW X3 XDRIVE30D registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
