On Monday, 14 August 2023, in the afternoon at 16:13, in Akmenės district municipality, on the Joniškis–Žagarė–Naujoji Akmenė national road (kilometre 48.16), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Opel (28 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
