On Tuesday, 15 August 2023, in the afternoon at 16:40, in Panevėžio district municipality, Kabelių village, on Dubų street, at the junction with Vėjo street, a Mitsubishi Colt ran off the road. Four people were injured — the 27-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (hospitalized), a 2-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt, was not in a child seat), a 30-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient) and a 1-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt, was not in a child seat). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
