On Wednesday, 16 August 2023, in the evening at 22:40, in Klaipėda, on Kalnupės street near No. 15, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Seat Altea XL, a car, a Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI, a Dodge Caliber, an Audi, a Jeep Compass, a Renault Clio and a Lexus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 13-year-old driver of the Seat (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
