On Wednesday, 23 August 2023, in the evening at 17:33, in Klaipėda, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with Tuopų street, a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Piaggio and a Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI. Two people were injured — the 15-year-old driver of the Piaggio (hospitalized) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Piaggio (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Piaggio (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
