On Monday, 28 August 2023, in the evening at 17:30, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Velžys–Jotainiai–Pagiriai–Šėta regional road (kilometre 33), a Piaggio EXS (HEXAGON 125) ran off the road. One person was injured — the 28-year-old driver of the Piaggio (hospitalized, was not wearing a helmet). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Piaggio, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (4.02‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
