On Monday, 25 September 2023, in the afternoon at 13:50, in Utenos district municipality, on Vyžuonų street, at the junction with Palangos street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Citroen C5 and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Citroen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
