On Saturday, 7 October 2023, in the afternoon at 12:35, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Žemaitijos street near No. 64, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW X6 xDrive40d, an Opel Vectra, a Peugeot 508 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the BMW (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.26‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
