Scania truck runs off the road on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Monday, 23 October 2023, in the evening at 21:40, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 95.50), a Scania R 420LA ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Scania (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
