On Monday, 13 November 2023, in the morning at around 5:00, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, Kardokų village, on Žemuogių street near No. 2, at a yard or parking-lot exit, an Opel Astra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
