On Monday, 13 November 2023, in the evening at around 17:00, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 8.90), a vehicle left the scene hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 40-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
