On Saturday, 25 November 2023, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Vilnius, on Vakarinis aplinkl. street, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 49-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Opel Astra (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
