On Wednesday, 13 December 2023, in the morning at 10:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 21.50), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH12 registered in Latvia, a Schmitz registered in Latvia and a Renault Master. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Volvo (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
