On Friday, 22 December 2023, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Trakų street, at the junction with Bažnyčios street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a KIA Motors Cerato. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volvo (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
