On Saturday, 20 January 2024, in the afternoon at 12:30, in Palangos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja main road (kilometre 32.45), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730 and a BMW 320D registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the BMW 730, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
