Drunk, unlicensed driver hits a parked Peugeot and flees in Maišelių village
On Thursday, 1 February 2024, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Širvintų district municipality, Maišelių village, on Maišelių street near No. 4, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a vehicle and a Peugeot 406. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of a vehicle (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.21‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
