On Friday, 23 February 2024, in the evening at around 19:00, in Plungės district municipality, on the Salantai–Plateliai–Alsėdžiai regional road (kilometre 30.95), an Audi A6 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
