Drunk moped driver in crash with Volvo truck on Tulpių g., Vadoklių town
On Saturday, 9 March 2024, in the morning at 7:35, in Panevėžio district municipality, Vadoklių town, on Tulpių street, at the junction with Ramygalos street, a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a moped, an Esve and a Volvo FH. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of a moped, who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (2.37‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
