On Wednesday, 13 March 2024, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Alytus, on Sporto street near No. 2, an Audi A6 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Audi (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.97‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. A 43-year-old passenger of the Audi was drunk (2.78‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
