On Friday, 5 April 2024, in the afternoon at 14:50, in Panevėžio district municipality, Naujikų village, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 93.40), a Volkswagen Golf rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
