On Friday, 5 April 2024, in the evening at 18:45, in Biržų district municipality, on Vilniaus street, at the junction with D. Poškos street, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
