On Saturday, 6 April 2024, at night at 23:45, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Vėžaičių town, on Gargždų street, at the junction with Ąžuolo street, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 38-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
