On Tuesday, 9 April 2024, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kybartai–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 27.21), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fendt 716 Vario and a Toyota Corolla. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Fendt (8 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
