On Tuesday, 9 April 2024, in the evening at 22:30, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 42, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Mitsubishi Colt. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
