On Friday, 10 May 2024, in the evening at 17:22, in Palangos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 27), a Toyota Yaris ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of a Scania (40 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
