On Saturday, 18 May 2024, in the evening at 21:42, in Raseinių district municipality, Burgaičių village, on the Ariogala–Raseiniai–Kryžkalnis national road (kilometre 46), a Toyota Corolla Verso ran off the road. One person died — a 54-year-old passenger of the Toyota (was not wearing a seatbelt). One person was injured — the 36-year-old driver of the Toyota (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to choose a safe speed. He evaded sobriety testing and had no driving licence.
