On Sunday, 28 April 2024, in the morning at 10:20, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 30.25), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 4007 and an Opel Insignia Sports Tourer SW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Peugeot (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.20‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
