On Sunday, 2 June 2024, in the evening at 20:45, in Vilnius, on Stepono Batoro street, at the junction with Dūmų street, a Skoda Octavia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
