On Tuesday, 18 June 2024, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 166, a Volkswagen Golf hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.72‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene.
