On Thursday, 4 July 2024, at night at around 4:00, in Šilutės district municipality, on K. Kalinausko street near No. 8, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a BMW 3ER Reihe hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.57‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
