On Saturday, 6 July 2024, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 110), a Toyota Prius hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Toyota (25 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings. He was drunk (2.37‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
