On Wednesday, 10 July 2024, in the evening at 20:20, in Ignalinos district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 127), a Scania R420 registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Scania (18 years of driving experience). The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). The Scania had recorded faults (sukabinimo įrenginio). A Konar JG had recorded faults (sukabinimo įrenginio). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
