On Friday, 26 July 2024, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Žąsino village, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 107.29), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Kawasaki ER-5 and a Toyota Avensis. One person was injured — the 33-year-old driver of the Kawasaki (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Kawasaki, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober.
