On Saturday, 17 August 2024, in the afternoon at 13:45, in Kauno district municipality, on the Garliava–Pažėrai–Veiveriai regional road (kilometre 7.95), a Volkswagen Caddy hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.78‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
